Monday in Buenos Aires...

My visit to Buenos Aires matches a busy schedule of events and cocktails, which I will ve attending with pleasure...
Yesterday I went to the Fashion Edition BA2013, which is a Fashion contest organised by Faena Hotel and Mercedes Benz, with the aim to promote Argentine design worldwide.
This year's edition gathered new designers from all over the country and they were asked to present a capsule collection to be evaluated by the judges. The prize for the winner was an invitation to participate in one of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week which usually take place in the most important cities of the world.
The designers had to gather certain requirements, such as: be younger than 35 years old, have no proffesional background in fashion and no personal store to sell their creations to the public. The jury was integrated by Delia Cancela, Gustavo Lento Navarro, Andrea Saltzman, Turquesa Topper and Ana Torrejón. There were lots of people and a very happy mood. First, we were invited to see a short runway show by previous winners: Pablo RamírezCora Groppo and Yanina Solnicki, from El Camarín. I liked Pablo Ramírez's and Yanina's designs very much, I found them more my style than Cora Groppo's.
Then we saw the show of the contestans, all of them so young and talented. I found their work original and full of ideas. While we waited the verdict, we were invited to a fabulous cocktail at the restaurant of the Faena.
The winners were the girls behind Tregua: Natalia Casal, Lucía Cornejo and Marina Rulli.
Congratulations to them and we wish them lots of success!
(Before you ask, I'm wearing a Lanvin dress and necklace...)
