SAG Awards...

It's the award-season in Hollywood, which began with the Golden Globes, then the SAG Awards and will end with the legendary Oscars.
As a proper fashionista, I've studied the look of the stars with care, and here's my list of favourites...
To begin with, it was again the night of the hairdos to one side, which could be seen in almost all actresses. Very nice. To bare in mind and copy...
My favourite, because of her hair and Dior Haute Couture dress, was Jennifer Lawrence. A young and brilliant actress who did an amazing job in "Silver Linings Playbook," which I have just seen.
(A note: her fellow actor in that movie, Bradley Cooper, also looked splendid...)
I also loved Naomi Watts embroidered grey strapless by Marchesa. I must confess that I may be influenced also by her outstanding performance in the movie "The Impossible," which I saw tonight. Excellent.
As one of our readers pointed out, blue is "the color" of Spring-Summer 2013. Much softer than black and maybe even more elegant.
I found interesting Nicole Kidman's dress, signé by Vivienne Westwood Couture. However, i did not like the straight hair...
I believe Marion Cotillard's Dior Couture wasn't fitting nor appropriate.
Now we must wait for the Academy Awards....

Haute Couture á Paris...

I'm a woman of rituals. I like to keep certain habits, I like doing the same things on and on. Going to Gaultier's Haute Couture show is one of them. I must have seen at least 10 of his last collections, but it's always a pleasure and there's always something new and surprising to discover and learn.
I love that I almost always get the same seat, which gives me the chance to observe that unique and special "fauna" that is the select audience of Parisian Haute Couture shows. On one side, the rich clients of the emerging economies, arrived all the way from China, India, Russia, Korea... Perfect make-up, Hermés bags and dressed in fashion's hottest looks. Very luxurious. On the other side, the press and the famous editors of Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, strictly dressed in black, very "detachées" from the rest of us...
And the stars!!! There's always a celebrity from the cinema or music world, who usually gets seats in a special area, surrounded by a cloud of paparazzis. This time it was the turn of Paz Vega, Rossy de Palma, Abel Ferrara, Amanda Lear and the-always-loyal-to-Gaultier Catherine Deneuve.
For the first time, the wait wasn't too long, just a half-hour delay... And the "dream" began, because it was that: a dream, not a runway show!
It was something so out of reality, so far from life's banality... The theme chosen was India, in all its splendor. The models looked stunning and I must say the Argentine Milagros Schmoll also shone by her beauty and talent.
Important jewelry, incredibly high heels, indian percussion music... Forty-six amazing looks...
Including the bride, who walked to the music of "La Vie en Rose" in Indian version (a hit of the season), and who under her huge skirt had hidden four small bridesmaids and a doll on her backpack...
Running as usual, Jean Paul Gaultier appeared for the final salute. Modern Peter Pan... A true sorcerer who made us all day-dream for 17 minutes...

Last dinners in Punta...

The party season here is over... Now is the time for private dinners, which are the best, where you get to meet friends and chat, eat and dance freely.
Here I am with one of my best friends, Myriam, my guest of honour.
We both have Judith Leiber's Leopard clutches, and we both placed them over the table, for protection!!

Golden Globes... My top 5 looks.

Anne Hathaway, with Chanel Haute Couture dress, refined and chic.
Jennifer López by Zuhair Murad, very sexy. I loved the wavy hair over one shoulder, seen on various actresses.
Kate Hudson with a black Alexander McQueen dress.
Jessica Alba, with an amazing Oscar de la Renta and "the hair-do" of the night.
Michelle Dockery, by Alexander Vauthier, a relatively new but very talented designer...

Chandon's Party...

Chandon's White Party is already a classic event here, in Punta del Este, but this year the gathering was much more intimate, with a one-of-a-kind host: Valeria Mazza, who opened the doors to her house "Finca Valeria."
The place is absolutely stunning and it proved the perfect location for a very-well organized party. Of course, the mandatory dress-code was white and not one of the 300 guests dared to challenge it. Excellent food, fabulous music and fireworks. Very pretty and elegant girls, led by Valeria in a splendid Versace dress (mine was also Versace and belonging to the same collection, simply because it was the only label which made white dresses!!). A special note to María Teresa Alvarez, my friend and official photographer of the party, who wore an incredible and sexy dress, as you can see here...

Fashion show at Citi Montoya Beach...

It's quite late, but as I want to publish this post tonight, I'll write a brief report on the Fashion Show organised by Citi Women and Six o' Clock Tea this afternoon at Montoya beach...
As I told you before, on the first two weeks of January there are so many events to attend that there's no soul that can handle them all!
But this show, which would be presenting the collection of Custo Barcelona (and he would be in person), was organised by two dear friends of mine: Moniquita Holmberg and Carminne Dodero. So, my sister and I could not fail them. I don't want to be the socialite that goes everywhere... Even I get tired of seeing myself!
But, in spite of the overwhelming heat and, still worse, the mosquito invasion, we got there!
Before Custo's Collection, we first saw El Camarin's (which I really liked... specially the dresses in nude and beige), Carminne's and Holy's by Dolores Barreiro. Finally, Custo's.
Custo Barcelona achieved global stardom thanks to his t-shirt designs, which are still his strong point.
The sunset was so splendid, that I couldn't help taking this picture too.

Punta del Este...

It's a fact: writing my post these days is complicated... I have no time!
Being here does not alter my routines so, apart from training, organising and handling my usual paperwork, there's my guests to attend and events to stop by...
Days simply fly away!
But soon everything will be back to normal.
In the meantime I leave you here a picture taken at the dinner organised by HSBC at La Huella, were we shared the table with Susana Giménez who, as usual, was charming and happy to answer to all the requests from her fans.
Enjoy your summer!
