Getting ready for Summer 2014...

I'm finally in Buenos Aires and the polar cold has subsided for a couple of days so that we can start feeling a bit like Spring... This week begun with the runway shows of the BAAM (Buenos Aires Alta Moda) and the windows of some shops already show the collections for the next season. All this got me thinking about the 5 items that were a hit during the European Summer and most probably will be seen here too. So, if you are planning to update your wardrobe with some key pieces, here's a list for inspiration...
1. A lightweight dress, in orange or green. I absolutely loved Gucci's...
2. A short for the city, to use paired with a blazer.
Miranda Kerr
3. A statement necklace, that is, a necklace "saying something." Lanvin initiated the trend this year and I surrendered to his Happy...
4. A white short dress, similar to those presented by Valentino or Philip Lim.
Valentino
5. A pair of tall sandals, with lots of straps, like those by Alaïa.

Enjoy! Spring is just around the corner!

The end of Topless...

Here I post the link to the article published by the Corriere della Sera where they comment on the end of topless sunbathing. I apologise, because it is in Italian, but basically it explains that an increase in the consciousness of the risks of sun exposure, plus young people looking for other ways to call for attention, are among the reasons that have initiated the decline of this habit in public. And I celebrate it!

Vacations at Montepulciano...

Every year, during the European Summer, I spend a couple of weeks in my homeland: Montepulciano.
It's here that a become the Tuscan girl I used to be... I walk up and down the hills: I do 6 kms a day. I read by the pool, dine at the restaurants in the nearby towns the dishes of my youth: Sformatini, Pici al tomate, Cantuccis. And the vegetables from the garden, beans and zucchinis. Life is very quiet: there are some tourists, but they don't bother...
When I was a small girl, I dreamed about going to New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Buenos Aires. I found being in Montepulciano so boring. But now I return with so much pleasure that I head back to Paris, Buenos Aires and New York a bit sad...
I've become the best ambassador of my homeland and a true "poliziana."
I must go, but I will return...

The looks of the Martín Fierro...

Sofía Reca, by Marchesa
Florencia de la V, by Jorge Ibañez.
Verónica Lozano, by Alexander McQueen
Nacha Guevara, by Jorge Ibañez
Pampita, by Gino Bogani
Susana Giménez, by Jorge Ibañez.
Juana Viale, by Carolina Herrera
Ingrid Grudke, by Jorge Ibañez.
Julieta Ortega, by Gino Bogani.
In spite of being abroad, I did follow the Red Carpet (I love fashion, as you all know!) of the Martín Fierro Awards.
Of course it's not the same as actually watching the live broadcast on TV, but still it's something.
I found everyone quite elegante. It's true, many went for the safe choice of black, but it is Winter in Argentina and black is always an easy option. I don't like nudes for the blonde women though, I believe it is not fitting.
For me, the best was Juana Viale by Carolina Herrera. The emerald-green dress, the jewels, the hairdo... everything was perfect. Just a tiny detail: I would have worn the brooch a bit higher, on the shoulder.
I also loved Sofia Reca, with a Marchesa. And Carolina Ardohain by Bogani. However I do not think that was the right way to have her hair done.
Beautiful Julieta Ortega, also by Bogani.
I feel so far away now... But I'll be back soon!!!
