amFAR is an American non-profit organisation, founded in 1985, with the aim of collaborating in the investigation of HIV, the treatment and education to prevent AIDS and spreading the achievements in the media. Every year they organise a Gala to announce the recent accomplishments and raise funds. Years ago I went to one of those galas, the one held at Mougin's Moulin, near Cannes, when Liz Taylor was the alma mater. Then came Sharon Stone, who is a very talented auctioneer and can sell almost anything.
I was very pleased to accept designers Gabriela Cadena's and Gustavo Cadile's invitation to attend this year's Gala in Sao Paulo this past Friday. It was, in addition, a great chance to visit city to which I've never been before. My friend Abraao Ferreira arranged all my stay (lovely the Hotel Emiliano!), my dress by Gustavo Cadile, the jewellery, etc.
With Gabriela Cadena and Abraao, ready to go.
The party was held at the amazing house of empresario Dinho Diniz, with guests such as Naomi Campbell (wearing a Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy Haute Couture dress), Kate Moss (in a red Saint Laurent) and many other beautiful models with designs by Valentino, Pucci, Elie Saab and other local designers.
The auction was hosted by a very energetic Sharon Stone, in a sexy black Cavalli.
All in all, almost 3 million dollars were raised, which is an extraordinary sum for a benefit gala.
To wrap-up the night, singer Mary J.Blige made everyone dance!
It was an unforgettable night. Yesterday, before returning to Buenos Aires, Abraao invited me, with a group of journalist of Elle Brazil, to lunch at Mani, the famous restaurant by chef Helena Rizzo, recently chosen as the best female chef in the world. It was a real pleasure...
